Raquel has a solid track record as a strong intrapreneur, focused on creative problem-solving and business results at a number of large corporations with national and international scope, including senior executive positions at Proximity (Senior VP and Managing Director), Pivotal Corp. (Director, eMarketing Solutions), Rogers Video (VP Marketing), Intrawest (Director, Database Marketing), and BCAA (Director, Marketing).
In 2002 Raquel Hirsch founded Hirsch Strategies, a marketing consulting firm which has provided nearly a decade of services to clients such as Blast Radius, Microsoft Business Solutions, 2020 Properties, the Insurance Corporation of BC, Vancouver 2010 Olympic Committee and many other successful companies needing to accelerate their demand-generation processes and maximize the ROI on their CRM and marketing investments.
In 2007, Raquel Hirsch co-founded and became president of WiderFunnel Marketing Inc., a global full-service conversion optimization agency that plans, designs and delivers web pages that are statistically proven (through A/B split testing and Multivariate testing) to persuade more prospects to become leads and customers.
She credits the company’s phenomenal success and accelerated global growth on, among other factors, a relentless focus on business results; the acquisition of strategic clients, visionaries and early adopters; and the hands-on strategic and tactical use of key social media tools, especially LinkedIn and Twitter.
Raquel Hirsch sold her majority interest in WiderFunnel in November of 2011.
Public Speaker and Educator
Raquel Hirsch is a sought-after speaker for professional conferences and seminars across North America and Europe. She has been well-received as a teacher at post-secondary institutions, including University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University and BC Institute of Technology.
In her personal time, Raquel Hirsch volunteers with various non-profits, mentors students and new immigrants, and is/has been a Board Member of the UBC Alumni Association; the Vancouver Economic Development Commission; the Emily Carr University of Art + Design and Congregation Schara Tzedeck.
Among other events, Raquel chaired three successful BCAIM’s “DM Days” bringing skills and professional development to over 1,100 local marketers, and twice chaired “Illuminating Achievement,” UBC’s Annual Alumni Achievement Awards dinner, which raises significant funds for UBC student programs and scholarships.
